Joining a collaborative and scholarly team, you will deliver compelling lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE MFL), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level MFL / International Baccalaureate pathways), equipping pupils with the phonetics, vocabulary breadth, translation precision, and cross-cultural competencies valued by top global universities and international careers.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver academically rich, highly engaging MFL lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 in your primary and secondary target languages (French/Spanish/German).
Conduct high-immersion lessons that systematically develop listening, speaking, reading, writing, translation, and grammatical accuracy across all year groups.
Prepare GCSE and A-Level candidates thoroughly for national written, listening, and oral examinations through structured speaking tutorials, past-paper analysis, and data-driven progress tracking.
Foster an authentic target-language environment that encourages spontaneous communication, debate, and deep appreciation for the customs, literature, and cinema of target-language nations.
Contribute actively to the school’s co-curricular and international vision, including modern language societies, translation competitions, language immersion breakfasts, and overseas cultural study trips.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching credential (independent school experience or PGCE preferred).
A strong academic degree in Modern Foreign Languages, Linguistics, French, Spanish, German, or a closely related discipline (near-native or native fluency in at least one primary target language is essential).
Proven track record or demonstrated capability of delivering outstanding MFL instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5/A-Level language teaching capability is highly desirable).
Thorough knowledge of national examination board specifications (e.g., AQA, Edexcel, Cambridge IGCSE, OCR) and evidence-informed communicative language teaching methodologies.
Exceptional classroom presence, strong oral and written communication skills, and an infectious enthusiasm for foreign languages and intercultural dialogue.
Salary & Benefits
Pay Scale: Independent School Salary Scale (above national pay spine, commensurate with linguistic capability and experience).
Independent Schools Pension Scheme / TPS option, generous fee remission for staff children, small class sizes, complimentary daily dining, structured continuous professional development (CPD), and access to extensive campus fitness and wellbeing amenities.
