ROLE DESCRIPTION

A forward-thinking secondary school and sixth form in Newcastle is seeking an engaging Business Teacher to join their Business and Enterprise faculty ASAP. In this full-time role, you will deliver high-quality Business Studies lessons across Key Stage 4 (GCSE / Vocational) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level / BTEC), inspiring students to explore marketing, finance, human resources, operations, and business strategy. You will equip students with the analytical, enterprise, and decision-making skills needed for university study, higher apprenticeships, and future corporate careers. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply.

DUTIES

  • Plan, deliver, and assess interactive Business Studies lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 in line with GCSE, A-Level, and vocational exam board specifications.

  • Guide students through core business concepts, including business structures, financial management, market research, global trade, and strategic planning.

  • Train pupils in case study analysis, quantitative business data interpretation, essay evaluation, and real-world commercial problem-solving.

  • Differentiate instructional delivery to support students of varying academic abilities while stretching high-attaining pupils toward top academic grades.

  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues to refine schemes of work, track pupil attainment data, and support extracurricular enterprise initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree in Business Studies, Business Management, Finance, Enterprise, or a closely related discipline.

  • Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS or QTLS.

  • Proven teaching experience or strong placement record in secondary and Post-16 Business education.

  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and commercial awareness.

  • Legal right to work in the UK.

SALARY

  • Paid on the national Main Pay Scale / Upper Pay Scale (MPS / UPS) commensurate with experience.

  • Enrolment in the Teachers' Pension Scheme.
