Joining an elite, highly collaborative department with a track record of top-tier progress scores, you will deliver rich lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE Mathematics / Further Maths), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Mathematics / A-Level Further Mathematics / Core Maths), preparing students to excel in national examinations and pursue competitive STEM pathways at premier universities.

Culture: An academically ambitious, high-expectation setting where mathematical curiosity, logical reasoning, collaborative problem-solving, and scholar extension are deeply embedded
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver academically rigorous, engaging Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 covering pure mathematics, mechanics, statistics, problem-solving heuristics, and quantitative logic.
Prepare GCSE and A-Level candidates thoroughly for national written papers through explicit modeling of multi-step proofs, exam techniques, and data-driven progress tracking.
Foster a culture of deep mathematical inquiry where students build confidence, resilience in tackling complex problems, and fluency in mathematical communication.
Track, evaluate, and monitor pupil progress systematically, executing targeted extension strategies to stretch high-aspiring mathematicians targeting Oxbridge/Russell Group STEM courses while scaffolding core skills for developing learners.
Contribute actively to departmental enrichment, including UKMT Maths Challenge coaching, Senior Maths Society, chess and logic clubs, and university masterclasses.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching credential.
A strong academic degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
Proven track record or demonstrated capability of delivering outstanding Mathematics instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5/A-Level & Further Maths teaching experience is highly desirable).
Thorough knowledge of national examination board specifications (e.g., Edexcel, AQA, OCR) and evidence-informed mathematical mastery approaches.
Outstanding classroom presence, strong analytical communication skills, and an infectious enthusiasm for mathematical concepts and problem-solving.
Salary & Benefits
Pay Scale: Inner London Main / Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS Inner London, commensurate with experience), with potential TLR opportunities available for Key Stage 5 Maths Lead, Further Maths Coordinator, or STEM Enrichment Lead.
Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS), comprehensive continuous professional development (CPD), structured executive mentoring pathways, and access to staff health and wellbeing programs.
