Wayman Education is working with a specialist SEN school seeking a teacher to join its team and support the Lead Teacher with the delivery of lessons. The school is looking for someone with previous SEN experience who can work confidently within a challenging environment and provide consistent support to pupils.

The School

The school supports a small group of 6 pupils within a specialist SEN setting. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with pupils, providing a structured approach to learning and supporting their individual educational needs.

The Role

  • Teach core subjects alongside one additional subject, depending on experience.

  • Work alongside and support the Lead Teacher.

  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet pupils' individual needs.

  • Encourage engagement, participation and progress.

  • Maintain a structured learning environment and manage challenging behaviour effectively.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working within an SEN setting is essential.

  • Confident supporting pupils with additional and complex needs.

  • Able to manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.

  • Resilient, patient and adaptable.

  • A qualified teacher with the ability to teach core subjects and an additional subject.
