About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day upkeep, security and general maintenance of the school premises.

Working as part of the school's wider support team, you will help ensure that classrooms, communal areas, outdoor spaces and facilities are maintained to a high standard, providing a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance, minor repairs and routine upkeep of school buildings and grounds.

• Open and secure the school premises, including managing access and completing security checks.

• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance issues, potential hazards and required repairs.

• Assist with setting up classrooms, halls and other facilities for school activities, meetings and events.

• Monitor heating, lighting and other building systems, reporting faults and arranging repairs where necessary.

• Liaise with external contractors, supervise site access and ensure work is completed safely.

• Support cleaning, waste management and general site presentation where required.

• Follow health and safety procedures, including fire safety, COSHH and safe manual handling practices.
