About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver a combination of practical and theoretical lessons, helping students develop their knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, food safety and the hospitality industry. You will create an engaging learning environment where students can build practical confidence, explore new techniques and develop valuable life skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Hospitality and Catering lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 teaching where appropriate.

• Lead practical cooking sessions and demonstrate a range of food preparation techniques.

• Teach food hygiene, nutrition, health and safety and hospitality industry practices.

• Assess students' practical and theoretical work and provide constructive feedback.

• Maintain safe, organised and well-equipped kitchen facilities.

• Adapt lessons to support students with different abilities and learning needs.

• Encourage creativity, independence and high standards of practical work.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Has strong subject knowledge in Hospitality and Catering or Food Technology.

• Is confident delivering practical cooking demonstrations and theory-based lessons.

• Understands food hygiene and kitchen health and safety requirements.

• Demonstrates effective classroom management and strong communication skills.

• Is passionate about developing students' practical abilities and academic progress.
