ROLE DESCRIPTION

An inspiring secondary school in Shropshire is seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join their thriving Science faculty ASAP. In this full-time role, you will deliver engaging biology, chemistry, and physics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE). You will foster scientific inquiry, practical investigation skills, and critical thinking, helping students of all academic backgrounds achieve their full potential. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply.

DUTIES

  • Plan, deliver, and assess interactive Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in alignment with National Curriculum and GCSE exam board specifications.

  • Set up and manage safe practical experiments in line with CLEAPSS guidance and school laboratory safety protocols.

  • Monitor pupil progress using formative and summative assessments, providing targeted intervention and feedback to close learning gaps.

  • Differentiate learning activities to accommodate students with additional educational needs while stretching high-attaining pupils.

  • Collaborate with science colleagues and lab technicians to maintain equipment, update schemes of work, and support extracurricular science clubs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related scientific discipline.

  • Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS or QTLS.

  • Proven teaching experience or strong placement record in secondary Science education with robust laboratory safety awareness.

  • Outstanding classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Legal right to work in the UK.

SALARY

  • Paid on the national Main Pay Scale / Upper Pay Scale (MPS / UPS) commensurate with experience.

  • Enrolment in the Teachers' Pension Scheme.
