An outstanding school in Hackney is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safeguarding Officer to join its team as soon as possible. About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and wider school team to manage safeguarding concerns, monitor pupil welfare and ensure appropriate support is provided. You will help maintain a safe and inclusive environment where every pupil feels protected and supported.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, record and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with school procedures.
Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date safeguarding records.
Support referrals and liaise with external agencies where necessary.
Work closely with pupils, parents, carers and school staff regarding welfare concerns.
Monitor pupil wellbeing and identify concerns requiring further intervention.
Support the implementation and monitoring of safeguarding policies and procedures.
Ensure all safeguarding matters are handled sensitively and professionally.
The Ideal Candidate
Has previous experience in a safeguarding, pastoral or child protection role.
Has a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection guidance.
Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills.
Can handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Is confident working with pupils, families and external professionals.
Has a genuine commitment to promoting children's safety and wellbeing.
