A high-achieving school in Waltham Forest is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safeguarding Officer to join its team as soon as possible. This is an important opportunity for a proactive professional to support pupil welfare, manage safeguarding concerns and help ensure every child feels safe, protected and supported.

About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and wider school team to manage concerns, maintain accurate records and ensure appropriate support is provided to pupils. You will play a key role in promoting a strong safeguarding culture throughout the school.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, record and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with school procedures.
Maintain accurate and confidential safeguarding records.
Support referrals and liaise with external agencies where appropriate.
Work closely with pupils, parents, carers and school staff to address welfare concerns.
Monitor pupil wellbeing and identify situations requiring further intervention.
Assist with the implementation and monitoring of safeguarding policies.
Ensure all safeguarding matters are handled sensitively and professionally.
The Ideal Candidate
Has previous experience in a safeguarding, pastoral or child protection role.
Possesses a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection guidance.
Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills.
Can manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Is confident working with pupils, families and external professionals.
Has a genuine commitment to promoting children's safety and wellbeing.
