A friendly primary school in South Woodham Ferrers is seeking a Year 1 Teacher to join its team in January 2027. The school is looking for someone who can build on children's early learning experiences while developing their confidence in reading, writing and mathematics.

The Role

• Classroom Teaching: Take responsibility for a Year 1 class and deliver the full primary curriculum.

• Early Literacy: Develop phonics, reading fluency, handwriting and early writing skills.

• Numeracy: Build confidence in number, calculation and mathematical reasoning.

• Creative Learning: Use practical activities and engaging topics to support children's understanding.

• Assessment: Monitor progress and identify pupils who require additional support or further challenge.

The Candidate

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Has experience teaching in Key Stage 1 or a strong understanding of early primary education.

• Can create a structured and nurturing classroom environment.

• Understands effective phonics teaching and early assessment.

• Communicates effectively with parents, carers and colleagues.
