A secondary academy in Canvey Island is seeking a passionate Drama Teacher to join its performing arts department in January 2027. The school is looking for an educator who can deliver engaging practical lessons, develop performance skills and contribute to its wider creative curriculum.

The Role

• Practical Instruction: Teach Drama across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 opportunities.

• Performance Development: Deliver workshops in improvisation, characterisation, movement and stagecraft.

• Theatre Studies: Develop students' understanding of dramatic texts, theatrical styles and performance evaluation.

• Production Work: Support school performances, rehearsals and extracurricular theatre opportunities.

• Assessment: Prepare students for practical examinations and written coursework requirements.

The Candidate

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Has strong Drama and performing arts subject knowledge.

• Can manage practical teaching spaces and rehearsals effectively.

• Encourages creativity, confidence and collaboration.

• Is willing to contribute to productions and the wider school community.
