A key role in the day-to-day life of a school
A well-established school in Gloucester is seeking an experienced Facilities and Compliance Manager to oversee its premises, maintenance and health and safety arrangements.
The school has a busy site with classrooms, specialist facilities, outdoor areas and shared spaces. It needs someone who can take ownership of the premises and ensure that facilities remain safe, functional and fit for purpose.
What you’ll be responsible for
Overseeing daily site operations, maintenance and security.
Managing planned preventative maintenance schedules.
Coordinating contractors, repairs and external service providers.
Monitoring statutory inspections and compliance requirements.
Maintaining health and safety records and risk assessments.
Supporting fire safety, emergency procedures and site security.
Managing facilities budgets and procurement where required.
Supervising caretaking and premises staff.
The ideal candidate
Previous facilities, premises or compliance management experience.
Experience within a school or large public-sector site.
Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements.
Experience managing contractors and maintenance schedules.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
A proactive approach to resolving site issues.
An enhanced DBS check will be required in line with the role.
