A well-resourced secondary school in Bournemouth is looking for a Science Technician to support its busy science department.
The school offers a practical learning environment, with pupils undertaking experiments and demonstrations across biology, chemistry and physics. The technician will be essential in ensuring lessons are properly prepared and laboratories remain safe and organised.
What you’ll be doing
Preparing equipment, materials and chemicals for practical lessons.
Setting up experiments and demonstrations in advance.
Supporting biology, chemistry and physics teaching staff.
Maintaining laboratory equipment and monitoring stock.
Preparing solutions and materials in accordance with safety procedures.
Ensuring safe storage and disposal of chemicals.
Maintaining laboratory health and safety documentation.
Keeping preparation rooms and laboratories clean and organised.
Who would suit this role?
Someone with a science qualification, laboratory experience or previous technician experience who enjoys practical work and supporting education.
School science technician experience is highly desirable. A strong understanding of laboratory safety is essential.
An enhanced DBS check will be required in line with the role.
