ROLE DESCRIPTION

A welcoming secondary school in Leicester is seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher to join their Mathematics faculty ASAP. In this full-time role, you will deliver engaging mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), inspiring pupils to develop numerical confidence, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. You will create a supportive environment where students of all starting points can master mathematical concepts and achieve strong academic outcomes. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply.

DUTIES

  • Plan, deliver, and assess interactive mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in alignment with National Curriculum and GCSE exam board specifications.

  • Use clear modelling, targeted questioning, and structured practice to develop students fluency, mathematical reasoning, and multi-step problem-solving skills.

  • Monitor pupil progress through regular formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to bridge learning gaps.

  • Differentiate lessons to support pupils with additional learning needs while providing extension challenges for high-attaining mathematicians.

  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues to refine schemes of work, share effective teaching strategies, and support extracurricular maths clubs or interventions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

  • Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS or QTLS.

  • Proven teaching experience or strong placement record in secondary Mathematics education.

  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational capabilities.

  • Legal right to work in the UK.

SALARY

  • Paid on the national Main Pay Scale / Upper Pay Scale (MPS / UPS) commensurate with experience.

  • Enrolment in the Teachers' Pension Scheme.
