About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons, combining practical projects with theoretical learning. You will encourage students to explore different materials, understand design processes and develop the technical skills needed to turn their ideas into finished products.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 teaching where appropriate.

• Develop creative projects that build students' practical and technical abilities.

• Teach design principles, material properties and manufacturing techniques.

• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to encourage progress.

• Maintain a safe, organised and productive workshop environment.

• Adapt lessons to meet different learning needs and abilities.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and departmental success.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Has strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology.

• Is confident delivering both practical and theoretical lessons.

• Demonstrates effective classroom management and strong communication skills.

• Is creative, organised and committed to achieving positive outcomes for students.
