An excellent opportunity has become available for a talented Design & Technology Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Chelmsford from January. The school is looking for a motivated practitioner who can deliver engaging and challenging lessons across KS3 and KS4, inspiring pupils to develop their creativity, practical abilities and understanding of design principles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering a varied curriculum that encourages pupils to experiment with different materials, develop technical knowledge and apply problem-solving skills to practical projects. The department benefits from specialist facilities and a range of resources that allow pupils to gain valuable hands-on experience.

The successful Design & Technology Teacher will join a collaborative department with an approachable Head of Department who provides guidance and encourages teachers to share ideas and develop their practice. The school is keen to receive applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs, alongside overseas-trained teachers with a formal teaching qualification.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Design & Technology Teacher with the ability to teach KS3 and KS4

• Strong subject knowledge and practical teaching experience

• Understanding of workshop procedures and health and safety requirements

• Formal teaching qualification with QTS (e.g. PGCE)

• Ability to plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons

• Legal right to work in the UK
