About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver a balanced DT curriculum, combining theoretical learning with practical activities that develop students' technical knowledge, creativity and problem-solving skills. You will help learners understand design processes, explore materials and manufacturing techniques, and build confidence in bringing their ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 teaching where appropriate.

• Develop practical projects that encourage creativity and independent thinking.

• Teach design principles, material properties and appropriate manufacturing techniques.

• Assess students' work and provide clear feedback to support improvement.

• Maintain an organised learning environment and follow workshop health and safety procedures.

• Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum planning and student achievement.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Has strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology.

• Can deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons.

• Demonstrates effective classroom management and strong communication skills.

• Is committed to helping students develop their technical abilities and achieve their potential.
