About the Role
As a Teacher of Economics, you will translate market mechanics, global trade dynamics, monetary policy, behavior economics, and industrial strategy into captivating, real-world learning experiences. Joining a collaborative and forward-thinking department, you will deliver high-rigor theoretical and quantitative lessons primarily across Key Stage 4 (GCSE Economics) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Economics / Level 3 Financial Studies), equipping young minds with the quantitative reasoning, essay evaluation, and analytical tools needed to thrive at top universities and in corporate careers.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver academically rich, engaging Economics lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 covering microeconomics (market structures, price elasticity, market failure) and macroeconomics (inflation, fiscal/monetary policy, international trade, development economics).
Prepare GCSE and A-Level candidates thoroughly for national written examinations through data-informed progress tracking, live modelling of long-form evaluative essays, and quantitative data workshops.
Integrate current global economic affairs, central bank announcements, market dynamics, and fiscal policies into daily classroom instruction to foster critical real-world evaluation.
Track, evaluate, and monitor student progress systematically, applying targeted intervention strategies to stretch high-aspiring scholars while scaffolding complex mathematical models and graphs for developing learners.
Contribute positively to departmental enrichment, including Student Investor challenges, Bank of England Target Two Point Zero competitions, Economics Society debates, and external speaker events.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching credential.
A strong academic degree in Economics, Econometrics, Finance, Political Economy, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
Proven track record or demonstrated capability of delivering outstanding Economics instruction across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (KS5/A-Level Economics teaching experience is highly desirable).
Thorough knowledge of national Economics examination board specifications (e.g., Edexcel, AQA, OCR) and strong competency in teaching economic graphs, quantitative data, and essay structures.
Outstanding classroom presence, sharp analytical communication skills, and an infectious enthusiasm for economic policy, market dynamics, and global trade.
