About the Role
As a Teacher of Humanities, you will ignite students' interest in human history, physical and urban environments, world cultures, and ethical debate. Joining a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, you will deliver high-rigor lessons across Key Stage 3 Humanities (broad-based History, Geography, and RE) and lead specialized GCSE/A-Level modules within your core discipline, equipping young people with the research, source analysis, and essay-writing skills vital for academic and future career success.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, academically rigorous Humanities lessons across Key Stage 3, along with subject-specialist instruction at Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level).
Prepare examination candidates thoroughly for national written assessments using data-driven tracking, live modelling of long-form responses, and diagnostic feedback routines.
Connect historical events, geographical phenomena, and ethical dilemmas to contemporary real-world contexts, encouraging lively, respectful classroom debate and critical reasoning.
Track, evaluate, and monitor student progress, applying inclusive teaching strategies to stretch high-aspiring scholars while scaffolding complex texts and spatial data for developing learners.
Contribute positively to faculty enrichment, including local field trips, historical museum visits, debating societies, model United Nations, and environmental sustainability initiatives.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching credential.
A strong academic degree in History, Geography, Religious Studies, Philosophy, or a closely related Humanities field.
Proven track record or demonstrated capability of delivering outstanding Humanities instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5/A-Level teaching capability in your main discipline is highly desirable).
Solid knowledge of national curriculum standards and examination board specifications across Humanities subjects (e.g., AQA, Edexcel, OCR).
Outstanding classroom presence, strong literacy and analytical skills, and an infectious enthusiasm for human societies, culture, and environmental systems.
Salary & Benefits
Pay Scale: Outer London Main / Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS Outer London, commensurate with experience), with potential TLR opportunities available for Key Stage Humanities Coordination or Enrichment Lead.
