An established primary school in Horsham is seeking a passionate Reception Teacher for September 2027. The school is looking for an educator who understands early childhood development and can create a stimulating classroom where children feel confident, supported and excited to learn.

The Role

  • Take responsibility for a Reception class and deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

  • Plan a balance of adult-led activities and purposeful child-initiated learning.

  • Develop early communication, language, literacy and numeracy skills.

  • Observe, assess and record children's progress against developmental milestones.

  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers to support a smooth start to school life.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has experience or a strong interest in Early Years education.

  • Understands play-based learning and effective early assessment.

  • Creates a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

  • Communicates effectively with families and colleagues.
