A village primary school near Saffron Walden is looking to appoint an experienced or enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join its teaching team as soon as possible. The school is seeking someone who can deliver a stimulating curriculum, encourage independent learning and help pupils prepare for the final stages of primary education.

The Role

  • Lead a Year 5 class and deliver lessons across the National Curriculum.

  • Strengthen pupils' comprehension, written expression and mathematical reasoning.

  • Use engaging topics and cross-curricular projects to develop subject knowledge.

  • Assess progress and identify opportunities for further challenge.

  • Contribute to year-group planning and wider school activities.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has a confident understanding of upper Key Stage 2.

  • Can motivate pupils and promote independent thinking.

  • Uses assessment effectively to inform planning.

  • Is available to start at short notice.
