A successful secondary school in York is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Business Studies Teacher to join its Business and Enterprise department. The school is seeking a teacher who can connect classroom learning with the commercial world, helping students understand how businesses operate, compete and respond to changing economic conditions.

The successful applicant will teach Business Studies across Key Stages 4 and 5, developing students' knowledge of enterprise, finance, marketing and business strategy. This opportunity would suit a teacher who can deliver engaging lessons using relevant examples and encourage students to develop strong analytical and evaluative skills.

Business Studies Teacher – Role and Responsibilities

• Teach Business Studies across KS4 and KS5.

• Plan lessons covering business ownership, marketing, finance and operations.

• Use current business examples and case studies to support learning.

• Develop students' ability to analyse business information and evaluate decisions.

• Prepare pupils for GCSE and A-Level examinations.

• Support students in developing their written responses and examination technique.

• Assess progress and provide targeted feedback.

• Encourage independent research and commercial awareness.

• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development.

Business Studies Teacher – Experience and Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• A degree in Business Studies, Business Management or a related subject.

• The ability to deliver relevant and engaging lessons.

• Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills.

Salary
