A thriving secondary school in Clacton-on-Sea is looking to appoint an enthusiastic English Teacher to join its expanding department in January 2027. The school is seeking someone who can inspire students through literature, strengthen their written communication and help learners develop the confidence to express their ideas.

The Role

  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4.

  • Deliver engaging lessons covering novels, poetry, Shakespeare and non-fiction.

  • Develop students' analytical writing, comprehension and examination technique.

  • Use assessment to identify learning needs and support individual progress.

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental initiatives.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English.

  • Can adapt lessons to support students with different abilities.

  • Establishes positive classroom relationships and high expectations.

  • Is committed to improving student outcomes.
