An academically rigorous secondary school in Salisbury, Wiltshire, is seeking an articulate Teacher of Mathematics & Statistics to join its faculty on a full-time, permanent basis starting in January.
Job Overview
Mathematics and Statistics represent high-performing academic routes within this school’s GCSE and Sixth Form curriculum. The successful candidate will teach across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE Mathematics Higher/Foundation and GCSE Statistics), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Mathematics, with an emphasis on Probability and Statistics).
Working alongside a collaborative department, you will instruct pupils in multi-step problem solving, algebraic manipulation, data collection techniques, and statistical hypothesis testing. This is a full-time, permanent contract.
Key Responsibilities
Teach rigorous Mathematics and Statistics lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
Guide GCSE Statistics and A-Level candidates through sampling distributions, probability models, and regression analysis
Plan and deliver lessons that develop structured mathematical reasoning and multi-step geometric problem solving
Track assessment data to run targeted intervention clinics for borderline and high-attaining pupils
Coach students for national UKMT Mathematical Challenges and university entrance papers
Fulfill pastoral duties as a Form Tutor, supporting student wellbeing and personal development

Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with an honors degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Engineering
Demonstrated ability to teach GCSE Higher Tier and A-Level Mathematics/Statistics effectively
Strong quantitative communication skills and enthusiasm for real-world statistical applications
An active enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
