About the Role
As a Teacher of PE, you will motivate students of all abilities to achieve physical excellence, teamwork, and resilience through a modern, inclusive curriculum. Joining a collaborative and energetic department, you will deliver practical and theoretical lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE PE / Cambridge National Sport Science), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level PE / Level 3 BTEC Sport), while spearheading an expansive extra-curricular fixtures schedule across London school leagues.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-energy, inclusive PE lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 covering invasion games, athletics, gymnastics, outdoor education, and theoretical sports science.
Prepare GCSE, A-Level, and BTEC candidates for written examinations and practical moderation using data-driven progress tracking and targeted exam technique sessions.
Lead and organize extra-curricular sports clubs, lunchtime activity sessions, and inter-school fixtures across football, netball, basketball, athletics, and traditional/modern sports.
Monitor, track, and record pupil progress, ensuring lessons are differentiated to engage reluctant participants while providing elite pathways for talented student-athletes.
Enforce strict health and safety standards across all sports facilities, equipment stores, change rooms, and off-site sporting venues.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching credential.
A strong academic degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports Coaching, or a closely related discipline.
Proven track record or demonstrated capability of delivering high-quality PE instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5/A-Level PE or BTEC Sport teaching experience is highly desirable).
Practical proficiency across a broad range of individual and team sports, alongside thorough knowledge of PE examination board specifications (e.g., Edexcel, AQA, OCR, Pearson BTEC).
Outstanding motivational skills, exemplary sportsmanship, and a passionate commitment to promoting health, fitness, and inclusion in an Inner London setting.
Salary & Benefits
Pay Scale: Inner London Main / Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS Inner London, commensurate with experience), with potential TLR opportunities available for Sports Fixtures & Extra-Curricular Lead, Key Stage PE Leadership, or House Sport Coordination.
Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS), comprehensive continuous professional development (CPD), structured mentoring, and access to staff health, fitness, and wellbeing amenities.
