Our client is looking to recruit a passionate and adaptable Science Teacher to join their secondary school in Peterborough from January. This is an excellent opportunity for a practitioner who enjoys teaching Science, can engage students through practical and theoretical learning, and is committed to helping young people achieve strong academic outcomes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Science lessons across KS3 and KS4. Depending on subject specialism and departmental requirements, the role may involve teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics as part of the wider Science curriculum. You should therefore be confident delivering a broad range of scientific topics and adapting your teaching to suit the needs of different classes.

The school is keen to appoint someone who can make Science accessible and interesting, encouraging students to ask questions, investigate scientific ideas and develop their understanding of the world around them. Practical demonstrations and experiments should form an important part of your teaching approach, alongside clear explanations and structured opportunities for students to apply their knowledge.

The Science Department

You will be joining a dedicated faculty that recognises the importance of high-quality Science teaching. The department works collaboratively to develop resources, share teaching strategies and maintain a consistent approach to curriculum delivery and assessment.

The Ideal Candidate

• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4.

• Strong subject knowledge in one or more Science disciplines.

• Able to plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons.

• Confident differentiating work to meet a range of learning needs.

• Effective classroom management and communication skills.

• A commitment to assessment, feedback and student progress.
