An ambitious secondary academy in Ampthill is seeking a History Teacher to support its humanities department. This opportunity would suit an engaging educator who enjoys developing students' curiosity about the past and helping them form well-supported historical arguments.

The Role

  • Teach History across KS3 and KS4.

  • Deliver lessons covering significant historical periods and events.

  • Develop source analysis, interpretation and extended writing.

  • Support GCSE preparation and assessment.

  • Maintain consistent classroom routines and expectations.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has excellent historical subject knowledge.

  • Can make historical concepts accessible and interesting.

  • Uses assessment to identify and address learning gaps.

  • Can provide continuity for students from an immediate start.

The Environment

The academy has a strong focus on student achievement and positive classroom relationships. The humanities department shares planning materials and provides support to teachers joining the team.
