A secondary school in Shrewsbury is seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join its teaching team as soon as possible. The school is looking for someone who can develop students' literacy, inspire engagement with literature and provide effective support for learners working towards their GCSE qualifications.

The Role

  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4.

  • Deliver lessons covering poetry, prose, drama and non-fiction.

  • Develop analytical writing, comprehension and examination technique.

  • Use assessment to identify learning needs and support progress.

  • Contribute to departmental planning and literacy development.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has secure English subject knowledge.

  • Can deliver engaging lessons with clear learning objectives.

  • Builds positive relationships and maintains high expectations.

  • Is available to start as soon as possible.
