A well-regarded secondary academy in York is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join its established department in January 2027. The school is looking for an educator who can inspire students through literature, strengthen literacy and develop confident communicators.

The Role

  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4.

  • Deliver lessons covering Shakespeare, modern texts, poetry and non-fiction.

  • Develop analytical writing, comprehension and examination skills.

  • Monitor progress and provide targeted feedback.

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental activities.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has strong English subject knowledge.

  • Can deliver engaging and well-structured lessons.
