A forward-thinking secondary school in Portsmouth is looking to recruit a motivated Business Studies Teacher to join its established department. The school is seeking an individual who can make business education relevant and engaging, helping students understand how organisations operate and the decisions that influence commercial success.

The successful candidate will teach Business Studies across Key Stages 4 and 5, supporting students in developing their understanding of marketing, finance, enterprise, operations and business strategy. This role would suit a teacher who can connect classroom learning with real-world examples and encourage students to think independently.

Business Studies Teacher – Role and Responsibilities

• Teach Business Studies across KS4 and KS5.

• Plan lessons that develop students' understanding of business concepts and terminology.

• Use real-world case studies to make learning relevant and accessible.

• Teach topics including marketing, finance, human resources and business operations.

• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations.

• Develop students' analytical, evaluative and decision-making skills.

• Assess written work and provide targeted feedback.

• Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development.

Business Studies Teacher – Experience and Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• A degree in Business Studies, Business Management or a related subject.

• Experience teaching Business at secondary level.

• Strong knowledge of GCSE and/or A-Level Business specifications.

• The ability to deliver engaging lessons using relevant examples.

• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Salary

The successful candidate will be paid on the MPS/UPS scale, depending on experience.
