A high-performing secondary school in Leeds is seeking a committed Teacher of English to join its successful English department in January 2027. The school has high expectations for pupil achievement and promotes a supportive, ambitious learning environment.

About the Role

You will teach English across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons in English Language and Literature. You’ll help pupils develop strong literacy, analytical and communication skills while preparing GCSE students for their examinations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Develop pupils’ reading, writing and analytical skills.

  • Teach GCSE English Language and Literature content.

  • Assess progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.

  • Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Strong subject knowledge in English.

  • Experience teaching secondary-age pupils.

  • High expectations for learning and behaviour.

  • A collaborative approach to teaching and professional development.
