The Opportunity

The successful candidate will teach Design and Technology across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 where appropriate. You will deliver a combination of practical and theoretical lessons, helping students develop technical knowledge, design skills and confidence in solving problems independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons that cater to a range of abilities.

• Develop students' understanding of design principles, materials and practical techniques.

• Encourage creativity, critical thinking and independent problem-solving.

• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support progress.

• Maintain a positive classroom environment and promote high standards of behaviour.

• Ensure practical activities follow appropriate health and safety procedures.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and student achievement.

What We're Looking For

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Has strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology.

• Can deliver engaging lessons that balance practical activities with theory.

• Demonstrates effective classroom management and communication skills.

• Is committed to helping students develop their skills and achieve their potential.
