About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Design and Technology across KS3 and KS4, with potential opportunities to teach KS5 where appropriate. You will deliver engaging lessons that combine practical activities with theoretical knowledge, helping students develop their design skills, creativity and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons tailored to students of varying abilities.

• Develop students' practical skills and understanding of design processes and materials.

• Encourage creativity, independent thinking and effective problem-solving.

• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.

• Maintain a positive classroom environment with clear expectations for behaviour.

• Ensure practical activities follow relevant health and safety procedures.

• Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum planning and departmental development.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Has strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology.

• Can deliver engaging lessons that balance practical work with theoretical learning.
