A well-established secondary academy in Ware is looking for a History Teacher to join its humanities department at short notice. The school is seeking a confident classroom practitioner who can deliver engaging lessons, maintain strong learning routines and support students in developing their historical understanding.

The Role

  • Teach History across KS3 and KS4.

  • Deliver lessons covering historical events, societies and significant developments.

  • Develop students' source analysis and written argument skills.

  • Provide regular feedback and monitor progress.

  • Work alongside colleagues to maintain curriculum continuity.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has secure History subject knowledge.

  • Can deliver well-planned lessons with clear learning outcomes.

  • Demonstrates effective behaviour management.

  • Is available to take up a temporary position at short notice.

The academy provides established schemes of work and a supportive humanities team. Teachers are encouraged to share resources and work together to maintain consistent standards across the department.
