About the Role

Wayman Education is seeking a Sociology Teacher for a secondary school in Derby. This is an opportunity to help pupils explore society, social structures, culture and contemporary issues.

The School

The school encourages independent thought, respectful discussion and the development of strong academic skills.

The Role

  • Teach Sociology at KS4 and KS5, depending on experience.

  • Deliver engaging lessons covering social theory and research.

  • Support examination preparation and essay-writing skills.

  • Encourage critical thinking and informed debate.

The Ideal Candidate

  • QTS with a Sociology or Social Sciences specialism.

  • Strong subject knowledge.

  • Experience preparing pupils for relevant examinations.

  • Confident leading discussions on contemporary social issues.

Salary

MPS/UPS, dependent on experience.
