We’re looking for a creative and enthusiastic Teacher of Art to join a secondary school in Birkenhead from January 2027.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys encouraging creativity, developing pupils’ artistic abilities and delivering lessons that allow students to experiment with different techniques and materials.

About the Role

You will teach Art across KS3 and KS4, delivering a mixture of practical and theory-based lessons. Pupils will explore different artistic styles, develop their technical skills and build confidence in their own creative work.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons across KS3 and KS4.

• Teach a range of techniques, materials and artistic processes.

• Support pupils with developing portfolios and creative projects.

• Prepare GCSE pupils for coursework and assessments.

• Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.

• Maintain a safe and organised working environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• Strong subject knowledge in Art and Design.

• Experience teaching secondary-age pupils.

• The ability to engage and inspire pupils of different abilities.

• A positive approach to classroom management and pupil progress.
