The Role

The successful candidate will support teachers with the preparation and organisation of practical Design and Technology lessons. Responsibilities will include preparing materials, setting up equipment, maintaining tools and machinery and ensuring workshops are clean, safe and ready for use.

The technician will assist with stock management, monitor supplies and support the ordering of materials when required. They will also check equipment for faults, maintain appropriate records and ensure that workshop health and safety procedures are followed.

The role will involve working closely with teaching staff to prepare resources for projects and assessments, helping students access the equipment they need to complete their practical work.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a practical interest in Design and Technology, engineering, product design or a related subject. Previous experience in a school workshop or technical environment would be beneficial.

Applicants should be confident handling tools and materials, well organised and aware of workshop safety procedures. The ability to work independently and support teachers in a busy department is essential.
