The Role

The successful candidate will provide technical support to the Science Department, preparing equipment, chemicals and materials for practical lessons. Duties will include setting up experiments, preparing laboratory resources, maintaining equipment and ensuring that classrooms are ready for lessons.

The technician will also monitor stock levels, assist with ordering supplies, organise laboratory storage and ensure that health and safety procedures are followed. Additional responsibilities will include cleaning and maintaining equipment, reporting faults and supporting teachers with practical demonstrations and investigations.

Requirements

Applicants should have an interest in science and practical laboratory work. Previous experience as a Science Technician or working within a laboratory environment would be advantageous.

Candidates should be organised, reliable and confident handling laboratory equipment and materials. A good understanding of health and safety procedures and the ability to work effectively with teaching staff are essential.
