A student-centred secondary academy in Cheshunt is seeking a committed English Teacher to provide maternity cover as soon as possible. The school is looking for someone who can deliver purposeful lessons, develop students' literacy and analytical skills, and provide the consistency and encouragement needed for learners to achieve their potential.

The Role

  • Teach English across KS3 and KS4.

  • Deliver lessons in English Language and Literature.

  • Develop students' reading comprehension, analytical writing and vocabulary.

  • Prepare examination groups through structured revision and assessment.

  • Maintain accurate progress records and provide constructive feedback.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has strong English subject knowledge.

  • Can deliver engaging lessons with clear learning objectives.

  • Differentiates effectively to support a wide range of abilities.

  • Is available to start at short notice and provide continuity for students.
