A welcoming secondary school in Harpenden is seeking an engaging RE Teacher to join its humanities team as soon as possible. The school is keen to appoint someone who can encourage thoughtful discussion, develop students' understanding of different religious traditions and help learners explore important philosophical and ethical questions.

The Role

  • Teach Religious Education across KS3 and KS4.

  • Deliver lessons exploring religious beliefs, worldviews and ethical debates.

  • Develop students' ability to compare perspectives and construct balanced arguments.

  • Monitor progress and provide meaningful feedback.

  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider humanities activities.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has strong subject knowledge and an interest in ethical and philosophical discussion.

  • Can create an inclusive classroom where students feel confident contributing.

  • Maintains positive behaviour and high expectations.

  • Is available to start at short notice.
