Job Description
Our client is looking to recruit a dedicated Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Bishop's Stortford. This role presents an opportunity to work with students who are developing their understanding of the scientific principles that shape the world around them.
The school is seeking a teacher who can deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, combining strong subject knowledge with clear explanations, practical activities and effective assessment. The successful candidate will help students build confidence in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, according to departmental requirements, while developing their ability to think scientifically and evaluate evidence.
Science teaching requires a balance of theoretical knowledge and practical application. You will be expected to help students understand scientific concepts, interpret data, recognise patterns and explain the outcomes of investigations. Where appropriate, practical demonstrations and laboratory activities should support students in connecting classroom learning with real scientific processes.
The department values teachers who can make challenging topics understandable without compromising subject depth. You should be confident in adapting your explanations to different learners, identifying misconceptions and providing additional support where necessary.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Science Teacher seeking a new school environment or an ECT looking to build experience in a collaborative department. The school is interested in candidates who are reflective, organised and committed to ensuring that students develop secure knowledge and effective examination skills.
