About the Role

As a Teacher of Mathematics, you will transform quantitative concepts into clear, engaging learning pathways. Joining the department for the spring term, you will deliver high-impact, rigorous instruction across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE Mathematics), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Mathematics / Further Mathematics, depending on expertise), guiding learners through algebra, calculus, statistics, mechanics, and complex problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver academically rigorous, engaging Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with Key Stage 5 A-Level opportunities for qualified specialists) that foster deep numerical understanding and spatial logic.

• Prepare GCSE and A-Level candidates thoroughly for national examinations using data-driven progress tracking, targeted exam technique coaching, and detailed diagnostic feedback routines.

• Scaffolding complex abstract concepts into accessible, real-world applications to build quantitative confidence and critical thinking across all learning tiers.

• Monitor, track, and evaluate student progress, implementing targeted intervention strategies to stretch high-aspiring mathematicians while supporting developing learners.

• Contribute positively to departmental enrichment initiatives, such as UKMT Maths Challenges, lunchtime problem-solving clubs, and university entry preparation (MAT/STEP coaching).

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching credential.

• A strong academic background with a degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a closely related quantitative discipline.

• Proven track record or demonstrated capability of delivering outstanding Mathematics teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5/A-Level experience is highly desirable).

• Thorough knowledge of national Mathematics examination board specifications (e.g., Edexcel, AQA, OCR).

• Superior classroom presence, clear explanatory skills, and an infectious enthusiasm for mathematical inquiry and quantitative problem-solving.
