About the Role

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day medical care and health support to students, responding to illness and injury while helping manage ongoing medical needs. You will work closely with school staff and parents to ensure students receive appropriate care and can participate safely in school life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and respond to student illnesses and injuries.

• Assess health concerns and determine when further medical attention is required.

• Administer medication in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.

• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.

• Support students with ongoing health conditions and individual care requirements.

• Communicate with parents, school staff and healthcare professionals where appropriate.

• Promote health, hygiene and student wellbeing across the school.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds a relevant nursing qualification and current NMC registration.

• Has experience in a healthcare setting; school nursing or paediatric experience is desirable.

• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Can remain calm and make sound decisions in challenging situations.

• Understands the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
