The Role

You will teach Design and Technology across KS3 and KS4, with potential opportunities to teach KS5 where appropriate. You will be responsible for planning engaging lessons, delivering practical activities safely and helping students build confidence in design, problem-solving and technical processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons that engage students of different abilities.

• Develop students' practical skills, creativity and subject knowledge.

• Monitor progress, assess work and provide constructive feedback.

• Maintain a positive classroom environment and high expectations for behaviour.

• Work with colleagues to support curriculum planning and departmental priorities.

• Follow school policies and relevant health and safety procedures during practical lessons.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Has strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology.

• Can deliver structured, engaging lessons with clear learning objectives.

• Demonstrates effective classroom management and strong communication skills.

• Is committed to helping students achieve their academic potential.
