A welcoming and well-established school in Oxford is looking for a reliable and practical School Caretaker to support the daily running of its premises. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with maintenance or caretaking experience who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented school environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

About the Role

• Carry out general maintenance, minor repairs and basic DIY tasks across the school site.

• Complete routine inspections of buildings, grounds and facilities.

• Ensure the school premises are clean, tidy, safe and presentable.

• Assist with opening and securing the site in line with school procedures.

• Monitor health and safety issues and report hazards or maintenance concerns promptly.

• Support the movement of furniture, equipment and deliveries when required.

• Liaise with contractors and assist with maintenance visits.

• Ensure all duties are completed in accordance with school policies and safety procedures.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous caretaking, premises or facilities maintenance experience is essential.

• Experience working within a school environment is highly desirable.

• Practical skills and confidence undertaking general maintenance and minor repairs.

• A good understanding of health and safety and site security.

• Reliable, proactive and able to work independently.

• Flexible and willing to assist with the varied day-to-day needs of the school.

An enhanced DBS check will be required in line with the role.
