A high-achieving secondary school in Ampthill is seeking an energetic PE Teacher to provide maternity cover as soon as possible. The school wants a teacher who can deliver engaging practical lessons, promote participation and help students develop confidence, teamwork and positive attitudes towards physical activity.

The Role

  • Teach PE across KS3 and KS4.

  • Plan practical lessons that develop physical skills, tactical awareness and fitness.

  • Adapt activities to accommodate different abilities and encourage participation.

  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.

  • Support extracurricular sporting activities and school fixtures where appropriate.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has strong subject knowledge and effective practical teaching skills.

  • Can organise safe, structured and engaging lessons.

  • Promotes inclusion, resilience and sportsmanship.

  • Is available to take up the role at short notice.
