A student-focused secondary school in Leighton Buzzard is looking to appoint an enthusiastic PE Teacher from January 2027. The school is keen to recruit someone who can promote participation, develop sporting ability and help students understand the importance of teamwork, resilience and lifelong physical activity.

The Role

  • Teach PE across KS3 and KS4.

  • Deliver practical lessons that develop physical competence and tactical understanding.

  • Encourage participation across a range of activities and ability levels.

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to support students' development.

  • Contribute to extracurricular clubs, fixtures and sporting events where appropriate.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has strong subject knowledge and effective practical teaching skills.

  • Can motivate students and maintain safe, well-organised lessons.

  • Promotes inclusion, teamwork and positive sporting behaviour.

  • Is keen to contribute to the wider life of the school.

The Environment

The school provides a collaborative PE department, access to sports facilities and opportunities to contribute to extracurricular provision. Staff development and shared planning are encouraged, with scope for the successful candidate to take on additional responsibilities as experience grows.
