Art Teacher sought for a successful mixed secondary school in Peterborough
Join a supportive department that values imagination, skill development and artistic achievement
Opportunity to deliver exciting creative projects and encourage students to develop their own style
About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Art Teacher to join a secondary school in Peterborough. The successful candidate will be passionate about creative education and committed to helping students develop their practical abilities, visual awareness and confidence in expressing their ideas.
The role will involve teaching Art across the relevant key stages, delivering a curriculum that encourages students to experiment with materials, investigate artistic styles and develop a sound understanding of visual communication. The school is looking for a teacher who can introduce new techniques, demonstrate practical processes and support students as they develop their own approaches to creative work.
The successful Art Teacher will plan lessons that build skills progressively, from foundational drawing and observational techniques through to more complex projects involving research, experimentation and the development of final outcomes. Students will be encouraged to study a range of artists and artistic movements, make connections between different styles and use their research to inform their own work.
The role will also involve assessing portfolios and practical projects, providing clear feedback and helping students understand how to improve the quality of their work. The successful applicant will encourage students to reflect on their progress, take creative risks and develop resilience when responding to challenges.
The school welcomes applications from experienced Art Teachers and ECTs who are eager to contribute to an engaging creative curriculum. Suitably qualified overseas applicants with a recognised formal teaching qualification may also apply, subject to UK employment requirements.
