School Cleaner – Birmingham | Permanent

  • Location: Birmingham

  • Start: ASAP

  • Contract: Permanent

  • Hours: 12.5 hours per week, all year round

  • Working pattern: Afternoons, 15:10–17:40. Morning shifts, 05:30–08:00, may also be considered.

  • Salary: Grade 1, SCP 3 (indicative)

A school in Birmingham is looking for a reliable Cleaner to support the day-to-day upkeep of its premises. The successful candidate will help ensure that learning spaces and shared facilities are clean, hygienic and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete scheduled cleaning duties across the school.

  • Clean classrooms, corridors, toilets and communal areas.

  • Remove litter and waste safely.

  • Replenish washroom supplies and notify the supervisor of low stock.

  • Handle cleaning materials and equipment safely.

  • Clean and store equipment correctly after use.

  • Report any faults, damage or potential hazards.

  • Support the wider cleaning team when cover is needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • A dependable, organised and thorough individual.

  • Good attention to detail and pride in their work.

  • The ability to follow instructions and health and safety procedures.

  • A flexible approach and willingness to work as part of a team.

Previous cleaning experience is an advantage, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
