School Cleaner – Manchester | Permanent

  • Location: Manchester

  • Start: ASAP

  • Contract: Permanent

  • Hours: 12.5 hours per week, all year round

  • Working pattern: Afternoons, 15:10–17:40. Morning shifts, 05:30–08:00, may also be considered.

  • Salary: Grade 1, SCP 3 (indicative)

We are looking for a dependable School Cleaner to join a school in Manchester. The successful candidate will play an important role in keeping the school clean, hygienic and safe for pupils, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine cleaning across classrooms and communal areas.

  • Clean toilets and other facilities to the required hygiene standards.

  • Empty bins and remove waste safely.

  • Replenish cleaning and washroom supplies.

  • Follow instructions for the safe handling and storage of cleaning products.

  • Check equipment after use and report faults or hazards promptly.

  • Maintain tidy cleaning cupboards and storage areas.

What We’re Looking For

  • A conscientious and reliable approach.

  • Good attention to detail.

  • An understanding of safe working practices, with training provided where needed.

  • The ability to manage tasks efficiently and work as part of a team.

  • Flexibility to cover colleagues when necessary.

School or commercial cleaning experience would be an advantage.
